Rates, Fees and Terms

The interest rate on NextStudent Private Loans1 varies quarterly, based on the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR), plus a margin.

Terms

NextStudent offers three repayment options for undergraduates.

  • Immediate repayment – Principal and interest payments begin within 60 days after check is disbursed.
  • Interest only – Principal is deferred and interest is paid only for up to four years while continuously enrolled in school. Interest begins within 60 days after check is disbursed.
  • Deferred principal and interest – Principal and interest are deferred for up to four years while the student is continuously enrolled in school. Payment begins six months after graduation.
